TRI STATE OPERATING UNIT consists of the following locations: New Windsor NY, Elmsford NY, Bronx NY, Maspeth NY, Staten Island NY, Smithtown NY, Carlstadt NJ, S Brunswick NJ, Marlton NJ, Moorestown NJ, Marmora NJ, Plymouth Meeting PA, and Philadelphia PA.

 
 

Coca-Cola Refreshments- Tri State Metro Operating Unit is seeking to hire a Labor Relations Manager to execute labor relations strategy in the field at the direction of the HR Director for Labor Relations. The Labor Relations Manager provides support to the HR Labor Director and the labor function generally in the areas of contract negotiation, contract administration and positive employee relations activities. The position will negotiate contracts, assist in contract administration issues such as grievance tracking/processing, support the company's positive employee relations efforts, provide labor guidance and support to projects and perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Labor Relations Manager (LRM) is responsible for, but not limited to the following responsibilities:

•Assist HR Labor Relations Director in executing labor strategy and all field activities within TSMOU or within other business functions we support.
•At the direction of the HR Labor Relations Director execute contract preparation and act in the capacity of lead negotiator or second chair in negotiation of select labor contracts as assigned.
•Partner with company lead on all pre/post NLRB petition communication campaigns – build credibility with employees, maintain good morale amongst employees, gain trust of management, lead supervisor/manager/employee training sessions.
•Provide coaching and counseling support to local management in the labor relations area.
•Execute effective training tools and conduct training for employees and managers in labor relations area.
•Work closely with HR Director for Labor Relations regarding Strategy, Planning and support of overall HR functions for Operating Unit. Perform functions related to assigned projects, and to proactively respond to labor issues, participate in management/labor councils, mediations and arbitrations, etc.
•Assist in execution of strike contingency planning processes and tools – pre-planning, logistics, personnel pool, overall communication during work stoppages, etc.
•Responsible for assisting the business leaders we support, HR Managers and other relevant stakeholders in managing grievances and utilizing established grievance processes.
•Assist in preparing for arbitration and other administrative agency proceedings as assigned.
•Develop strong working knowledge of labor law practices and current events in the LR arena.
•Assist in major investigations and fact finding on employee and labor relations issues.

 

•Assist in the preparation of reports for strategic planning and reporting purposes.

 

 



Requirements

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

•Bachelor's degree
•3 years or more of relevant labor relations or human resources experience; or relevant course study at accredited and recognized academic institution.
•Experience in labor negotiations, contract administration, NLRB campaigns and /or relevant human resource or operations experience in a labor environment.
•Analytical thinking (strategic thinking, thinking systematically, innovative/creative problem solving); perceptive; leadership (visioning, commitment, decisive, persuading, influencing); negotiation; excellent communication and presentation skills (listening, writing, speaking); attention to detail; competitive; excellent interpersonal skills; dynamic (high level of energy, strong initiative and drive); excellent judgment and decision making skills; highest degree of personal integrity and professional ethics; ability to plan, execute and constructively deliver in times of intense pressure; ability to manage multiple obligations simultaneously in a fast-paced, complex and intense environment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

•Juris Doctor degree and/or a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Labor/Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Business, Political Science, or Economics fields
•Coaching (motivating, providing feedback, developing others); delegating; change management; project and process management; collaborative
•5 years or more of relevant labor relations or human resources experience; or relevant course study at accredited and recognized academic institution.
