Visiting Physicians Association, a national leader in delivering home based primary care, works with home health and hospice agencies to ensure patients receive continuity of care in the home environment. VPA in-home physicians collaborate with agencies to establish in-home treatment plans and certify the need for services. VPA partners with over 1,000 home health agencies, collaborates with independent and assisted living communities, and works with skilled nursing facilities and hospitals nationally to coordinate services and patient transitions to home care.
  • Assists Medical Technologists at all times with any non-technical duties that must be performed in order to produce a timely reporting of patient test results
  • Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, reporting and maintaining of patient test records
  • Adhere to the laboratory's Quality Assurance policies. Document all quality assurance activities as requested
  • Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance of samples. When applicable, notify the Shift supervisor, technical supervisor, or Laboratory Manager
  • Document all corrective actions taken when specimen processing systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications
  • Communicates with supervisors and peers regarding problems of an unusual nature and disseminates necessary information
  • Understands and is supportive of philosophy, purpose, and policies of VPA
  • Demonstrates proper care and use of equipment and supplies, where applicable
  • Promotes cost consciousness and maximum utilization of supplies
  • Abides by laboratory/regulatory policies
  • Uses Universal precautions at all times
  • Maintains a professional atmosphere
  • Minimum high school diploma, some college preferred
  • No previous lab experience required. Will train
