This is a Laboratory Technician II Job in Rosemont, IL! Adecco has an immediate opening for a 6 month contract Laboratory Technician II Job in Rosemont, IL!

Job description:
• Receive fixtures from customers, unpack and set up for testing.
• Make electrical, thermal, EMC optical measurements to characterize fixtures initial condition.
• Order and receive appropriate Philips products (drivers, modules, sensors...) for re-fitting the fixture
• Perform the mechanical integration of our products in customer fixtures.
• Make electrical, thermal, optical, EMC measurements to characterize fixture with company components
• Package and send fixture for external testing (e.g. Optical measurements for DLC) when needed
o Issue purchase orders to external labs, track and follow up on material and results.
• Prepare all the data for review by design-in engineers.
• Ship fixture back to the customer.
• Take ownership of (some of) the lab equipment within the department.
• Propose improvements on the way of working to improve efficiency.
Application Support:
• Prepare and send samples of new products to customers.
• Prepare demo kits to support sales and product marketing teams.
• Prepare fixtures and demos for tradeshows.
• Perform small installations for application testing in the lab.
• Debug electrical assemblies.

Experience:
• 5+ yrs experience working in a lab
• Experience in mechanical-electrical workshop for prototyping or production of small series of products.
• Experience in using lab testing equipment (scopes, multi-meters, power analyzers, thermocouples, imaging camera..) and performing electrical and thermal measurements or product testing.
• Experience in working with mains voltage equipment
• Experience in using common computer programs (Excel, Word, Office)
• Experience in optical measurements is a plus
• Experience with Lighting products is a definite plus.
• Experience with electrical wiring schemes and regulations in buildings and lighting fixtures is a definitive plus.

Education/Training:
• Associate Degree or equivalent in engineering or technology.
• 7+ years of relevant work experience after High School is also acceptable

• Team player, enjoying working with different disciplines.
• Practical, hands-on and creative in finding mechanical solutions and building it.
• High quality standard of own delivered work. Capability to do the final check before shipping samples to customers.
• Result driven, self-propelling. Understands deadlines and demonstrates necessary flexibility to deliver upon commitment
• Able to work in different projects simultaneously
• Able to support rapid prototyping of electronic products (boards, assemblies, fixtures).
• Good oral and written communication skills.
