In Soda Springs, we produce elemental phosphorous, a key component to ensuring farmers are more productive--something that's becoming increasingly important in our growing world. We are currently offering a Land Reclamation Internship for the summer of 2018 at this location.

Responsibilities include:
  • Water sampling and logging of data
  • Assist in establishing native flowers, habitat, and food plots on various properties
  • Assist in storm water inspections and plan updates
  • Monitor and record data from nest boxes
  • Construct brush & rock piles for small mammal habitats
  • Involvement in planning, installation, and maintenance of erosion control practices
  • Collect soil & vegetation samples from an ongoing field study
  • Involvement in agency inspections
  • Assist with mine tours
  • Learning operation of reclamation equipment
  • Work with GIS ArcView 9
  • Surveying with a Trimble GPS
  • Assist other department personnel as needed
Required Skills/Experiences:
  • Junior Standing or above working toward a degree in Land Reclamation or related field
  • Must be returning to school in the fall of 2018
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
