This is a temp to hire position with the opportunity to advance for the right person. Below is a brief description but not limited to all responsibilities.
o Leadership: You will have several people you need to supervise in addition to handling general complaints, last-minute schedule changes. Assistant managers are leaders and should represent AMPORTS and themselves well by acting as a role model to the people reporting to them.
o Organization: There will be a million and one things going on as an assistant manager they should be able to stay focused during busy times and delegate tasks to employees to keep business running smoothly. Work with union labor.
o Recruiting and training: Make sure the new employees transition as smoothly as possibly into their jobs. You should be a good teacher who tries to help employees who are having difficulty picking up new skills.
o Being friendly and outgoing: People skills are a must in this job. Not only will you interact with your employees every day, but you will also need to assist customers when they have questions, concerns or complaints. Address these issues in a professional manner.
o Working in the elements: Could be working inside or outside for long periods in all kinds of weather
o Work Schedule: Overtime will be mandatory on a week to week basis including weekends.
o Safety Oriented
o Able to work with little follow up needed
o Computer literate
o Able to pass drug screen and acquire TWIC card
o Have a valid drivers license with 2 points or less, able to operate a manual transmission
o Have reliable transportation to work
