Alios BioPharma, Inc., part of the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies, is currently recruiting for a Lead, Business Strategy & Operations. The position will be based at the Alios location in South San Francisco, CA, but candidates in any other California J&J location will be considered.
 
The individual will be responsible for providing business operations support to the various groups within the Infectious Diseases Therapeutics (IDV Tx) Therapeutic Area (TA), with a focus on the Clinical, DMPK/Tox and Facilities teams based in the South San Francisco (SSF) location of the IDV Tx TA. The business operations support will primarily focus on End-to-End (“E2E”) procurement process, including but not limited to vendor management, purchase requisition creation / submission / management, troubleshooting, and any other related activities. In pursuit of these activities, this individual will also work with functional support groups outside of the TA, including Finance, Project Management (PMO), Procurement, Accounts Payable and Global Services.
 
In addition, this individual will be responsible for developing, owning, and refining systems and tools to drive efficiencies and improve workflows. The Lead will be empowered to analyze the current state, make recommendations, implement improvements and iterate as necessary.
 
This individual will report directly to the Director, Business Strategy & Operations of the IDV Tx TA, and will oversee the actions and activities of an Analyst, Business Strategy & Operations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Provide seamless, end-to-end (“E2E”) procurement support for partners within the Clinical, DMPK/Tox, and Facilities groups located in the South San Francisco site of the IDV Tx TA, specifically around:
    • Working with suppliers and parties external to the organization, acting as a single point of contact where necessary and managing the relationship with these vendors (i.e., additions in ARAVO, confirming net payment terms, updating contact information, etc.)
    • Placing orders in eMarketPlace (working directly with partners within the TA to understand the needs, place those orders where necessary, manage the process, resolve issues, and provide E2E support)
    • Assisting the business partners in confirming receipt of goods / materials / services, and approval of invoices as needed
    • Working directly with Procurement, Accounts Payable, Global Services, Finance, PMO or any other function as needed to ensure the successful completion of these activities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with customers within the TA as well as Finance, Procurement and other partners outside of the TA to:
    • Leading continuous improvement of operational processes (PO creation, implementation, launch, payment, reporting, credit memos, reconciliation, mismatch clearance, closure)
    • Troubleshooting issues around purchasing and payments from systems (ARAVO, ARIBA, eMP, SAP, etc.) and Procurement/PO standpoint
  • Own process improvement, and work with various stakeholders to lead efforts and initiatives in this space
  • Lead creation of necessary documentation of QRG, guidelines, business BOPs, and be the forefront of LEAN methods
 
Leadership/Supervisory Responsibilities:
 
  • Provide supervisory responsibilities to the Analyst, Business Strategy & Operations in partnership with the Director, Business Strategy & Operations

Qualifications
Must 4 year degree required. BS in Finance or Operations preferred
Minimum of 5 years or work experience in Finance Strategy and Operations preferred.
Wiliness to work to work with diverse teams
Conduct analyses and make recommendations to management regarding improvements – preferred
