A key member of the Global Data Governance Services (GDGSS) team, this role manages data solution design reviews and provides service oriented architecture (SOA) governance. Responsible for the definition, implementation and ongoing oversight of the Global API Governance process to ensure reuse and alignment to standards for all Global SOA integration needs. Additionally, reviews all data centric architecture requests submitted to the Global Architecture Review Board to ensure alignment to MetLife Data Management Strategy.

Seeking candidates with 7+ years of data centric solution design, data management, SOA and data integration experience.  Expertise with Hadoop and related Big Data tools and Enterprise Architecture certification(s) are a plus.  Ideal candidates will have data governance experience in defining and publishing data patterns and best practices. Business acumen with financial services and/ or Life Insurance products is highly desired. Strong communication skills are required with experience influencing both business and IT leadership.

We are seeking candidates who excel in at least two of the following skillsets:

  • Enterprise Data Governance
  • Data Integration Techniques
  • Big Data Platforms, Capabilities
  • Java & Application integration techniques (SOA, EAI, Web Services, Messaging and REST)

Experience with technologies such as Java, Linux, Hadoop, RDBMS, Informatica, SPSS, SAS, Visualization tools (ex. Microstrategy & Tableau) and data management practices are required. Other technologies such as Stream Computing, Data Virtualization and emerging Data Management methodologies and technologies are also desired.



  • Enterprise Data Governance in the ongoing refinement of key work product templates, documents, project plans, and other artifacts as required to support EDG engagements
  • Builds trusted customer/partner relationships for long term success of EDG program
  • Provides advisory to business units in the structuring of local data governance offices and programs
  • Provides advisory in the implementation of process supporting data integration, data stewardship, data governance communication, data governance KPI measurement and reporting
  • Provides expert guidance to data architecture and application developers enabling adherence to data governance standards and practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support daily program activity

  • Excellent written skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration
  • 5+ years of experience in leading technical and business project teams
  • 5+ years of experience with data ingestion, data integration, data movement and control
  • 5+ years of experience with developing process flows and data flows
