Eaton’s Circuit Protection-Power Components Division is hiring a Lead Engineer-User Interface Software. The Lead Engineer-User Interface Software will be based from our Moon Township, PA facility.

 We are seeking an innovative problem-solver with a strong web-design background.  Work with a dynamic global team on the front-end of IoT and cloud-based technologies for industry-changing products.  You will lead the development of applications using the latest web-technologies.  These applications will interface with databases, systems and electronic devices to gather, process, and present information to customers.  

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides technical leadership in front-end and embedded software design and implementation.
  • Defines functional and nonfunctional engineering product requirements in response to the marketing/customer requirements specification.
  • Builds software applications by following coding standards, creating unit tests, integration tests, and deployment scripts.
  • Quickly learns new technologies, libraries, and tools including Polymer.js and Angular.js.
  • Translates, designs, and wireframes from the User Experience team into functional user interface, ensuring high levels of quality.
  • Completes and participates in code reviews with great attention to detail
  • Tests own work, meeting quality and reliability goals.
  • Facilitates continual communication between stakeholders, User Experience team and other developers in the United States and India.
  • Maintains build stability by following source control standards such as the Git Workflow.
  • Participates on an Agile Scrum team for development.
  • Researches solutions to problems using various methods including online communications such as Stack Overflow and other technical blogs.
  • Performs and contributes to technical research and investigations.
  • Develops solutions using technologies to gather, process, store, and manipulate data.


Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of software development experience required.
  • Relocation not available. Candidates must live within a 50 mile radius of the Moon Township, PA facility.
  • Sponsorship not available. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship on an ongoing basis.  
Position Criteria:
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Proficiency in Javascript, HTML5 and CSS required.
  • Proficiency in C/C++/C# or other object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Proficiency in Javascript, HTML5 and CSS required.
  • Knowledge of Polymer.js and Angular.js for UI as well as knowledge of Node, Bower, and Grunt.
  • Knowledge of Internet protocols and experience in implementing protocols in applications desired.
  • Experience in designing for usability.
  • Experience in using defect tracking systems, code repository, Agile methods.
  • Experience with web and mobile technologies and their application development (Apple & Android).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong debug and code review skills.
  • Strong data analytical skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • MS in electrical/computer engineering or computer science.
  • 7+ years of experience working as a designer on interactive projects.
  • Exposure to working with a cross-functional team of business analysts, User Experience Designers, Software/Firmware/Hardware Developers, and Testers.
  • Experience in working with RTOS & Linux-based systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical power systems.
