Ski School Team Leader - Yosemite Ski and Snowboard Area

Unit Summary: This position is located at Yosemite Ski and Snowboard area, Yosemite National Park. Yosemite is located approx. 2 hours from Fresno, CA. The park is a major tourist destination with 4 lodging facilities, 7 main food & beverage operations, multiple fast food venues, 17 retail outlets and numerous recreational activities.
•-Assists Guest Recreation Operations Manager on all aspects of the Snowboard & Ski School operation and planning, keeping a special focus on improving the department's net contribution.
•-Assists Guest Recreation Operations Manager in designing new Ski and Snowboard School products to meet student needs and wants, keeping abreast of industry developments.
•-Responsible for effectively managing daily Ski and Snowboard School labor cost and setting weekly/daily work schedules.
•-Responsible for enforcing KRONOS time keeping, ensuring breaks, lunches and punch ins/outs are executed consistently and on-time.
•-Schedules and trains entire staff, ensuring all safety standards. Advising Guest Recreation Operations Manager of any necessary coaching/training/disciplinary recommendations
•-Ensures compliance with the Union Collective Bargaining Agreement, Company Policies, the Yosemite Experience Employee Handbook, and safety objectives.
-Other duties as assigned by Guest Recreation Operations Manager or General Manager
Our Expectations: Qualified associates must possess:
• Three (3) years concentrated experience in a ski school role.
• Current PSIA Level 1 Alpine Ski or Snowboard Instruction Certificate.
• Basic knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment.
• Basic First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain.
• Excellent communication skills, understand and speak English.
• Some basic computer skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook are required.
• Must be able to read and proof complex reports, write memos and perform basic accounting functions.
• Must have the ability to perform all activities and duties of the staff reporting to the position.
• High level concentration, attention to detail required, and organization skills, as well as the ability to work independently, prioritize work and make decisions regarding correct formatting of work.
Ability to receive and distribute effective communications to and from staff and guests.
