Lead Software Engineer

As an Engineering Manager, your primary mission will be to manage the planning, execution and delivery of multiple product lines. The role will require management of geographically distributed teams and multiple vendors. Ample prior experience in a fast-paced agile environment will be critical to planning, budgeting and overseeing our software development activities. In addition, experience managing work against competing deliverables, actively identifying blocking issues and bringing them to quick resolution to increase the team's overall velocity is essential. As an accomplished multi-tasker, you will have no problem managing teams that work on multiple projects. We are a team-oriented organization looking for an individual who can partner with product owners, producers, developers, operations, and QA to ensure our projects are released on time, meeting requirements for performance, quality, and functionality.
Manage the development team building and supporting both browser-based products and mobile app products.
Oversee all development-related activities on a daily basis and be responsible for execution and final delivery of the product.
Regularly report project status and issues to Director level technology team management.
Contribute in a "working manager" role and an integral part of the scrum team to deliver according to the road map, on schedule.
Ensure that the team uses existing standards throughout the life cycle of the project by conducting regular training and reviews.
Establish or continue to apply best practices in change management, source control, dependency mapping.
Participate in periodic project management process reviews. Conduct regular code reviews.
Coach and mentor the development team to bring out the best results from each team member.
B.S. degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
M.S. degree in Engineering (preferred but not required)
7+ years of experience in software product development
3+ years of experience managing development teams
Proven track record of building and deploying commercial software
Desirable technology background:
Java, Spring, Maven, Tomcat
Mongo, Oracle, MySQL, SOLR
Solid grasp of networking, routing, proxies, load balancers
Published mobile apps in any of: Apple, Google, Windows app stores
Experience with CI tools: Jenkins, Artifactory
Experience with collaboration tools like: JIRA, Confluence
Experience with security infrastructure: OAuth2.0, OpenID, IdPs
Experience with automotive diagnostics: OBDII, DTCs, PIDs, J1979, J2534
Strong leadership, facilitation, conflict resolution, negotiation, motivational, consensus-building, and interpersonal skills working across functional lines
Ability to effectively articulate complex technical issues and share technical information
A demonstrated record of leading by example
