Summary of Responsibilities


This position is responsible for supporting the Brighthouse Financial Run-Off business, with a specific focus on supporting the group annuity 403(b) business.  This role reports to the Vice President of Client Solutions.  The focus of the role is on executing the business strategy for the group annuity 403(b) block of business.  This includes the development and implementation of the future state operating model for these businesses, working with both internal and external business partners.  The position will develop business requirements for products and services related to transitioning the business to this new operating model.  This position will ultimately become the Product subject matter expert for the group annuity 403(b) business.  The position will also assume responsibility for certain functions required to support the group annuity 403(b) business, dependent on the final operating model.  This individual will use process improvement and analytical experience to assist in these efforts needed to enhance the business in the transition.  Finally, the position will also evaluate and execute on business initiatives to improve the value provided by the businesses in the long term.  This position will need to establish critical partnerships across Brighthouse, MetLife, and external vendors in order to achieve success.   


Principal Responsibilities 


  • Own and manage requirements gathering, documentation, analysis and communication for future state operating model for the business.
  • Manage initiatives to transition business to the new operating model.
  • Assist in development of RFP’s, analysis and selection of vendor(s) to support future state model.
  • Become the Product expert for those businesses that are managed by the role.
  • Manage relationships with outside vendors providing services to Brighthouse and its clients.
  • Develop and manage transition plan for services to be performed by internal functional areas.
  • Take responsibility for Product related functions transitioned from MetLife.
  • Establish working relationships and rapport across core functions, key vendors and support areas including MetLife to enable requirements documentation process.
  • In minimal time, work with key stakeholders and become the business line subject matter expert for Brighthouse.
  • Consolidate and communicate status and key metrics to Client Solutions management.
  • Assist in day to day business separation activities within the business.
  • Act as a contact for business separation processes, procedures and guidelines for the business lines.
  • As required, document and communicate business functions and processes.
  • Act as a contact for product and process guidance for the business lines and vendors.
  • Develop and oversee initiatives to improve profitability of the business.

Required Qualifications 


  • 7+ years professional experience
  • Experience gathering and documenting business processes
  • Demonstrated experience to lead initiatives/projects
  • Familiarity with insurance products, rules, processes and procedures
  • Ability to build and manage relationships of external and internal partners


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in the 403(b) market and/or with annuity products
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication and influencing skills
  • Self-motivating

  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Tenacious with follow-up, detail orientation and organizational skills
  • A team player with positive attitude
