The Quality Engineer will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes. In this role, you will utilize your experience & expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for yourself and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for :
+ Reducing manufacturing cost, improving quality controls and increasing yields/capacity
+ Working with quality engineering & other support personnel and functions in furnishing technical guidance to shop metrology and GD&T components
+ Overseeing evaluation of test equipment, precision measurements, accuracy measurements, and performance testing
+ Analyzing production and service limitations, then develop, implement, and evaluate quality assurance process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques to track the progress of improvement efforts
+ Providing advanced quality engineering of new product introduction involving new processes or advanced automated equipment
+ Prioritize and implement multiple concurrent process improvement projects to drive customer satisfaction and business productivity
+ Providing technical analysis and evaluation both manually & automatically to assigned inspection processes
+ Working with Material Review Board to disposition nonconforming material and devise remediation actions
+ Providing training & documentation, support & consultation to shop operations, design & quality control to assure effective integration of assigned programs into routine operations
+ Collecting, organizing, monitoring and distributing information for the Company and to customers / suppliers related to product quality and process improvement
+ Specifying, developing and accepting advanced technology, quality information and test equipment
+ Acting as a consultant (as a recognized authority) to the quality, manufacturing and engineering organizations to improve Quality and Manufacturing processes, introduce new products and improve product design
+ Selecting, hiring, training and providing ongoing leadership of assigned personnel to meet schedules, quality and measurements, and organizational goals
+ Managing organization's cost superiority and investment program and compile and report all organization measurements on quality and cost
+ Maintaining awareness of the latest inspection techniques & processes & their beneficial & limiting aspects for optimum application to department needs
+ Providing improvements in inspection equipment, probes / supplies, machine calibrations, fixturing, mechanical inspection & analysis within assigned process area
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of professional work experience)
+ Minimum of 3 full-time years of experience in a professional quality role
+ This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
+ Prior experience in areas of quality assurance such as :
+ Metrology, GD&T
+ Dimensional measurement
+ Incoming material control
+ Statistical process control
+ Systems performance
+ Product evaluation
+ Previous experience working in a machine shop environment
+ Ability to conduct internal and external quality audits to recognize improvement opportunities and work with stakeholders to identify and implement effective CA / PA plans
+ Six Sigma training
+ Knowledge of regulatory requirements (CE / UL / CSA)
+ Ability to apply statistical methods to analysis of engineering problems
+ Ability to comprehend technical documentation
+ Strong oral and written communication skills
+ Possess the ability to act as a liason between multiple functions (i.e. - Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, Mechanical Inspection, etc.)
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Unison Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Engine Services, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of electrical components, sensors, and systems for aircraft, industrial, marine, military, and space uses.
