The Lead Software Engineer/Hadoop Engineer will be responsible for the platform support of the Hadoop ecosystem including defining best practices and standards, product roadmap, platform metrics and new project onboarding. The Engineer will be the lead for the COE team working and collaborating with application development, Engineering, Architecture and Operations to deliver enterprise BigData solutions. 




  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to the application team with respect to BigData solutions and best practice particularly with Hive, Pig, HBase, Spark, Kafka, and SOLR components.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system tasks. Identify approaches that leverage resources, provide economies of scale, and simplify remote/global support issues.
  • Active participation in the various Architecture and design discussions; participate in project planning sessions with project managers, engineers and other team members.
  • Ensure enterprise Big Data platforms are standardized, optimized, available, reliable, consistent, accessible and secure to support business and technology needs
  • Strong knowledge in industry best practices



  • 2 - 4+ years extensive hands on experience in MapReduce, Hive, Pig, Java, HBase, Solr, and the following Hadoop eco-system products: Sqoop, Flume, Oozie, Storm, Spark, and/or Kafka.
  • Strong experience with enterprise Java development— Spring Framework, J2EE, (SOAP, REST), XML, JSON etc.
  • Experience with Spring framework including Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Cloud Stream, Spring MVC.
  • Demonstrated experience in architecture, engineering and implementation of Enterprise production Big Data use cases
  • MS Degree in Computer Science/Engineering required.
