Capital One is looking for a Lead Software Engineer with experience practicing DevOps.

As a Capital One Software Engineer practicing DevOps, you'll work on everything from customer-facing web, mobile and API applications in the cloud. In this role, you will design and develop cutting-edge pipelines accelerate delivery using existing and emerging technologies. You will be responsible for design decisions and developing DevOps solutions while adhering to existing process guidelines. You will also act as mentor to junior developers, support QA automation, and will have oversight during implementation into production.

Responsibilities:

  • Owning all aspects of service delivery-including participation in the service readiness process to validate that all required conditions of satisfaction are met prior to project rollout.
  • Environment and development management, repository build out and maintenance, and Cloud migration. 
  • Automating builds, scripting deployments. 
  • Introducing best practices within tech stack. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in application development or at least 5 years of experience in systems administration
  • At least 2 years of experience practicing DevOps
  • At least 3 years developing with a dynamic language (Javascript, Python, Ruby, etc.).
  • At least 3 years of demonstrable experience designing and maintaining large VPC deployments in AWS.
  • At least 2 years of experience using a configuration management software. (Ansible, Terraform, ECS, Docker, GitHub, Jenkins,)
  • At least 1 year of experience w/ testing automation (gherkin, cucumber, Selenium)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science
  • At least 10 years of experience in application development or at least 10 years of experience in systems administration
  • 3+ years of experience practicing DevOps
  • 3+ years of Cloud Infrastructure experience (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience with Ansible, Terraform, ECS, Docker, GitHub, Jenkins,
  • 5+ years developing with a dynamic language (Javascript, Python, Ruby, etc.).
  • 2+ years Identity Access Management
  • 2+ years API platforms
  • 2+ years of experience w/ testing automation (gherkin, cucumber, Selenium

This is a Lead level position located in San Francisco, CA. It is permanent and full-time, beginning as soon as we find the right person.
