The Digital R&D team at Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Care Companies seeks a talented, user experience and digital interface professional to join our team creating digital products for people with diabetes. This role works in conjunction with R&D project owners, engineers, consultants and agencies to invent novel product interfaces. The Lead User Experience Designer is expert in and stays up to the minute on state of the in UX/UI. They have expert opinions on the best toolsets for creating high caliber digital design.
The Lead User Experience Designer will:
Have prior experience with digital (mobile and web) and on-device software for blood glucose meters, insulin pumps and/or other medical devices.
Possess or have the ability to rapidly develop a strategic understanding of patient/customer needs.
Participate in and sometimes facilitate workshops to explore all angles of ideal UX/UI for a new product will be important.
Maintain an understanding of what competitors are doing to stay ahead of the UX/UI curve as well as creators of digital and device-based interfaces from outside our industry.
Be experienced at creating and running usability studies to test our concepts as part of an iterative design process and co-creating training, packaging and labeling.
Be familiar with device maps, user flows, wireframes, screen/page layouts and other deliverables.
Be accountable for creating competitive advantage through UX/UI of innovative digital products that complement the full Diabetes Care Companies portfolio.
Maintain a broad understanding of all products and technologies across the JJDCC business ensuring a consistent user interface between devices and software.

Communicate complex ideas clearly to a variety of audiences, with varying degrees of technical sophistication; must be able to apply these communication skills to build consensus.
- Work out of Wayne, PA location.
- Experience as a successful user interface or graphics designer with familiarity in current usability research, theories and methodologies is required.
- Knowledge of agile development processes, complex product release cycles, and product management is preferred.
- A "hands-on" entrepreneurial startup attitude and the ability to work with diverse global teams effectively is required
- Prior experience in supervising and coaching external agencies and contractor in support of UX/UI objectives is preferred.
