SUMMARY

This position is responsible for all aspects of eyelet production for both Internal and External customer requirements. This position will be responsible for managing inventory, releasing work orders, forming, cleaning, Transfer Press/ Rolling operations, welding, machine setup, tooling inspection/ rework, quality inspection, and material reclaim. The employee that fills this position must be self motivated, be able to recognize and adjust when priority changes are needed, possess excellent technical, mechanical, troubleshooting skills, and must be flexible to changes that are needed to meet the business conditions.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety
  • Adhere to all OC and Plant specific requirements when properly handling, moving and storing metal.
  • Participate on safety teams
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Recognize, report and correct safety hazards upon identification
Administration
  • Complete transfer transactions for work orders/ purchase order material
  • Manage inventory supply for processing and finished products
  • Complete and record all quality data
  • Maintain and initiate tooling orders
  • Document process improvements to enhance standard work
Machine Operation
  • Precision machine/tooling setup (Daily)
  • Ensure correct tooling setup and alignments for several machines simultaneously
  • Transfer press/ rolling mill operation
  • TIG welding
  • Basic equipment PM
  • Tool sharpening, grinding, polishing, etc.
  • Maintain tooling/equipment standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve setup / product quality issues
Quality
  • Follow all process controls and provide documentation
  • Conduct parts cleaning and vibratory cleaning operations
  • Inspect and ensure compliance of all products characteristics
  • Independent identify abnormalities and find resolution
Inventory
  • Ensure all material is tracked and accounted for through the entire process
  • Conduct daily/ weekly/ monthly cleaning schedules of all equipment
  • Ensure eyelet inventories are maintained within allowable targets and meet production quantity requirements
Regular Attendance
All other duties as assigned or needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED EquivalentEXPERIENCE
  • 2 plus years TIG welding experience required
  • 2 plus years manufacturing environment experience
  • 2 plus years working in positions requiring machine setup, troubleshooting, and operation

SUMMARY

The Tip Cell is a self-supportive team that is responsible for the production of tip sections for fabrication and external customers. It consists of PAW, Assembly, and Gusset Operations combined together to flow material from its raw stage to finished product in minimal time.
The successful candidate will operate a different PAW Machines to create the Tip Plate for Assembly as the schedule determines. The role of a PAW operator ensures the best quality Tip Plate will be sent to the next part of the process. The PAW operator is responsible for ensuring all Tip Plates meet specific standards as well as maintaining machines operations.

  • Producing tip plates per priority sheets
  • Cleaning/stamping and checking plates
  • Quality inspection before and after PAW
  • Entering measurements in to quality database
  • Loading/unloading tip plates in and out of PAW Machines
  • Switching out and inspecting tooling setups
  • Running PAW Programs
  • Debugging and correcting machine issues
  • Annealing and flattening tip plates
  • Dye Testing
  • Trimming plates on trim dies
  • Drilling out and replacing eyelets
  • Performing inventory
  • Participating in STAR Point meetings
  • GAT Transactions
  • Data recording
  • Metric Board Maintenance

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED EquivalentEXPERIENCE
  • 1 plus years of manufacturing experience
  • 1 plus years of machine operation experience or machining certification
