Our higher educational client is looking to full-time on a Linux cloud engineer. This is a great opportunity, because this position is responsible for the installation, maintenance and administration of multiple systems comprising the university's core IT infrastructure. A primary, but not exclusive, focus will be on AWS Cloud infrastructure and Red Hat Linux operating systems running on VMware physical server infrastructure. A secondary focus will be utilizing Ansible to automate provisioning and maintenance operations within the university's IT infrastructure. Job Description: • Expert level skill with regard to the design, installation and management of AWS cloud workloads leveraging AWS compute, storage, network other AWS cloud products • Expert level experience with design, deployment and maintenance of Linux Operating Systems such as Redhat Enterprise Linux 5, 6, 7 • Experience with Ansible or similar automation platforms • Administering and configuring utilities such as Centrify and Satellite server that support the RHEL platform. • Planning, implementing and continually improving a comprehensive patching procedure for OS and applications. • Has extensive virtualization infrastructure experience with VMware VSphere, including compute, storage networking infrastructure • Administration and support of MySQL, Apache and Tomcat • Support and Administer Splunk • Understands network protocols, concepts and troubleshooting • Develop and maintain Linux Operating Systems standards and operating procedures • Has experience testing, developing writing scripts to execute as code against infrastructure • Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance. • Develops and implements testing strategies and document results • Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems • Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned • Participates in special projects as required • Providing support and assistance to End Users, System Administrator(s), Network Engineer(s) and Telecommunications Systems staff • Assist in ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures • Responding to escalated requests for technical assistance *FOR IMMEDIATE CONSIDERATION, PLEASE SEND RESUMES TO MICHAEL.NEELY@ROBERTHALF.COM!
