• Ensures that shipping, receiving and warehousing functions comply with internal and external Import/Export requirements. Conducts periodic audits to assure compliance. • Processes and coordinates export licensing for valve products controlled by ECCN 2B350 and other ECCN's in accordance with the requirements of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Serves as point-of-contact for U.S. Dept. of Commerce personnel and other agencies for review of applications. Maintains records of all license applications. • Reviews all imports received by brokers and provides correct HTS class codes for Customs use. Ensures that the correct amount of duty is paid and prevents import brokers from making mistakes in classification. Provides brokers with any back-up paperwork they may need for Customs clearance. Reviews and approves all entry summaries received from import brokers as a result of Customs clearance. Makes sure goods are cleared properly through Customs and that brokers' charges are accurate and supported. Forwards the approved broker's invoice and supporting documentation to Accounts Payable. Maintains computerized log sheet for all entries and selected import/export invoices. Forwards all pertinent paperwork to Accounting and maintains copies. • Responsible for the processing and record keeping of all imports into U.S., Mexico, and overseas. Maintains US Tariff Schedule, is point-of-contact for US Customs brokers, and approves US Customs broker's invoices for payment. Single point-of-contact within organization globally to develop reporting and lead the development and documentation of new procedures for all world areas to ensure Corporation is in compliance with all applicable laws. • Participates in organizations Freight Council to reduce overall freight costs and consolidate carriers. Negotiates Brokers fees and charges. Sets up and maintains master list database of valves and valve parts, referencing Harmonized Tariff System and Schedule B class codes for imports and exports. References NAFTA status on imports from Chihuahua. • Keeps the HTS and Schedule B import/export books up to date as well as the Export Administration Regulations Book. Reports items that involve Customs audits, notices of violations by the U.S. Government, seizures, bond changes or problems to senior management. • Assures all prepaid and collect freight invoices are processed through the central freight pay program and Accounts Payable Dept as required by the Customs Modernization Act of 1995. Interacts with Legal Dept and outside Import/Export legal counsel to ensure organization is in complete compliance with U.S. Custom's regulations for all current, revised, and new regulations issued by U.S. Customs other governmental agencies impacting products imported to the U.S. and products exported to other world countries.
