YOUR MISSION:
 

Manages the day-to-day operation of work within Production Purchasing Department activities along with enforcing logistics processes to control material flow and avoid line downs with costs at BP levels. Actively pursues supply chain management in international in-bound operations.

 
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
 
OPERATIONS:
  • Provides management guidance and assistance relative to logistics.
  • Uses problem solving skills to effectively handle schedule changes and delivery issues identified by staff.  Identifies alternative solutions while meeting deadlines and satisfying production.
  • Audits current policies/procedures to ensure standards are being met.  Identifies and proposes changes to make policies and procedures more efficient.  Has authority to initiate changes with proper approvals.
  • Works with accounting regarding factory payment. 
 

PRODUCTION/MRP and INVENTORY MONITORING:

  • Monitors fluctuating production, MRP, and inventory in all locations and identifies the optimum logistics mode.
  • Develops policies and standardizes procedure for alerting dynamic changes to affect transportation of raw materials
 
PLANNING/FORECASTING:
  • Utilizes data from the fixed budget, ISP, CCore, and Glovia systems. 
  • Manages by rapidly assessing strengths and weaknesses, troubleshooting, and making strategic recommendations based on the understanding of the business implications.
 
MANAGEMENT:
  • Establishes close liaison with production purchasing teams and follow up on needs/requests.
  • Develops policies and standardized procedures covering logistics.
  • Trains production purchasing teams for efficient operations according established procedures.
 

BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Participates in carrier selection and budget creation and works to maintain budget numbers throughout fiscal year.
 
OTHER
  • Responsible for logistics management as part of the management of contract/temp members, their work and workplace.
  • Responsible for the management of security as part of the normal management of the business, and information is handled in compliance with the Global ISM Related Regulations.
  • Interprets, enforces and complies with Company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Prepares reports, charts, graphs, and other statistical information.
  • Will initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
MUST HAVES:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience;  or seven (7) years of related experience;  or the equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training. 
  • Experience in trans-pacific incoming logistics with US and Mexican Customs procedures.
  • Experience with direct raw material purchasing for mass production.
  • Leadership experience required.
  • Experience with and understanding of ISP and Glovia.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Windows-based databases as appropriate to the position and assignment.
  • Bi-lingual English-Spanish verbal and written communication skills required.
