Position Summary:
The LPG Commercial Compliance Specialist will lead the global initiative to integrate a web-based third party compliance software, into the standard compliance processes. In this role, the Commercial Compliance Specialist will work directly with global partners to complete the Securimate process. In addition this role will be directly responsible for the LPG Securimate scorecard results.

The position will report to the LPG Commercial Excellence Director. The ideal candidate is located in Asheville, NC with willingness to travel 10% annually.

General Description:
Key responsibilities of the position include:
¿ Work with commercial and business teams globally to facilitate complete and accurate participation in compliance and due diligence processes, including ensuring that intermediary due diligence is completed in a timely manner and in a process consistent with all corporate requirements.
¿ Prepare, review and approve intermediary due diligence prior to review by legal and group level approver to ensure alignment with corporate policy.
¿ Develop an in depth knowledge of the Securimate system and learn to leverage the functionality of the system to better support the process and business.
¿ Must be capable of communicating in a language that effectively communicates complex technical and business terms in clear and concise terms.
¿ Work with other divisions and groups to share information and align on processes that support Thermo Fisher¿s compliance and due diligence processes.
¿ Communicate regularly and report on the status of compliance and due diligence program with the Senior Director, Corporate Counsel, VP and GM level business leadership, and directly with business contacts.
¿ Flag and escalate appropriate matters to the Director of Commercial Excellence and Corporate Counsel for guidance.
¿ Provide training and support to internal clients on a variety of compliance and due diligence program related questions and needs.


Minimum Requirements:
¿ Bachelor¿s degree from an accredited higher learning program
¿ Paralegal Certificate, or CCCM or CPCM Certification OR certification in Global/International Trade Compliance
¿ Related experience may be considered in lieu of certifications
¿ 3+ years¿ experience in compliance or as a paralegal
¿ Must have knowledge of trade compliance policies

Experience/Qualifications/Skills:
¿ Excellent communication skills and ability to influence
¿ Experience working with SaaS platforms
¿ Ability to independently review and discuss compliance and due diligence requirements with commercial contacts and customers (occasionally)
¿ Strong project and process management skills
¿ Must meet key milestones and deliverables under tight timelines
¿ Demonstrates sound judgment based on principles of law and corporate policy, and is able to make recommendations that are aligned with the business and internal or external customer and managers
¿ Effective communication and presentation styles
¿ Must possess excellent organizational skills and work ethic
¿ Must be detail-oriented and produce high-level, quality work-product
¿ Self-motivated and require minimal direction to meet goals and objectives
¿ Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
¿ Solid business acumen with ability to work cross functionally
¿ Must have a proven track record of multi-tasking and working under a challenging workload
¿ Strong analytical and problem solving skills
¿ Must enjoy working in a team environment
