Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

Eaton’s Residential and Wiring Devices Division located in historic Williamsburg, VA has an opening for a Machine Operator on 2nd Shift.  
Position Overview
The Operator would be responsible for setup, operating, and maintain production machinery.
Job Responsibilities:  
  • Reads job instructions and/or blue prints to cut required products
  • Operates production equipment according to guidelines and in a safe manner. Practice good housekeeping.
  • Performs set-ups and minor maintenance of equipment. Troubleshoots equipment when required.
  • Monitor oil and coolant levels of machines.
  • Moves product from previous operation to next operation.
  • Adjusts machines, tooling, and wheels to keep product within specified tolerances per job instructions.
  • Completes production documentation (first piece approvals, routing tags, scrap tickets, etc.) accurately and neatly.
  • Uses specified gages to insure proper product tolerances.


Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of Williamsburg facility will be considered.                 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum one year machining background and setting up metal working machines
  • Minimum one year running a machine with multiple settings or specifications .
Position Criteria:
  • Understanding of how to use precision gauging instruments
  • Ability to proactively work with other team members
  • This position requires standing and/or walking for an entire eight – overtime required
