The Machine Operator will operate one or more of the following machines: Hardinge / Miyano, CNC Machining Centers / Cells, CNC lathes, conventional mills, drills, lathes, grinders, hobs and / or other machines as assigned. In this role, you will be responsible and the authority to carry out assigned tasks.
In this role, you will:
+ Work from blueprints, operator inspection plans and verbal instructions
+ Obtain required tooling and materials from departmental storage area, returning when job is completed
+ Obtain special tooling and inspection equipment as required
+ Make necessary adjustments to equipment and or tooling to attain specified dimensions and finishes
+ Perform in-process inspection as required on inspection plans
+ Ability to interpret CMM results and adjust as necessary
+ Exhibits ability to run prove-outs unassisted
+ Ability to set all gauges independently
+ Ability to train others in proper gauge use
+ Identify corrective actions based on root cause and can assist others in troubleshooting
+ Identify and correct abnormal tool wear
+ Train others in proper hand tool usage
+ Set own tools as needed across multiple machine centers
+ Identify root causes of nonconformances
+ Other duties as required

+ This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
+ High School Diploma / GED
+ Minimum of 2 years of general machining experience

Ability and willingness to utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures
+ Functional knowledge of GD&T applications as they relate to inspection processes
+ Proficienct in the set up and operation of Hardinge / Miyano machinery and one or more of the following: CNC Machining Centers / Cells, CNC lathes, and conventional machines (i.e., mills, drills, lathes, grinders, hobs, etc.)
+ Ability to run the Hardinge / Miyano machines
+ Actively pursues opportunities for cross-training (as both trainer and / or trainee)
+ Exhibits ability to add lines of code to programs as needed
+ Understanding of the reasoning behind process dimensions and operation sequence
+ Consistently meets productivity and efficiency expectations
+ Ability to proactively mediate / facilitate team discussions
+ Engage in sustaining engineering to resolve issues
+ Ability to train others on all required computer applications
+ Proven ability to demonstrate external focus, clear thinking, inclusiveness, expertise, imagination and courage
