STATEMENT OF JOB
"Shell Welding" operators set up, operate, monitor and maintain the equipment as well as the parts manufactured on the equipment.
Equipment:
1. "Weld Cells" each consisting of a collar welder, bottom press, and bottom welder
2. Material Handling System
ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY OBLIGATIONS
Comply with the following Environmental, Health and Safety duties as a condition of employment:
• Comply with safety rules
• Attend and Participate in Safety Training
• Participate actively in the safety process
• Ask questions if something isn't known
• Report all accidents and injuries immediately
• Submit suggestions to improve safety
• Know responsibilities in the event of an emergency (i.e. what to do in the event of an alarm for fire, chemical spills, tornados, etc.)
• Be a coach to others who are acting unsafely
• Must have Lock-out tags after 6 months?
• Attend and participate in all hazardous and non-hazardous waste trainings.
• Ability to recognize chemical hazardous labels.
• Spill management and clean-up.
• Air shutoff locations.
• Capability to follow satellite accumulation rules and requirements.
• Proficiency to recognize hazardous wastes in your area and manage properly.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years of age and have a HS Diploma or equivalent. Must be willing to learn team skills and work in a team environment. (Each associate must be willing to commit 50-100 hours of training per year; this training will include quality, technical, and interpersonal skills and will be paid time.) Daily routine requires being on your feet 100% of the time, walking, standing, stooping or bending. Must have ability to lift average (approximately 50 pounds) weight material, product and tools. Must have the ability to keep track of a variety of functions at the same time. Knowledge of arc welding and machine shop training as one might get from a trade school is preferred.
DUTIES
Collar Welder
1. Loads welder w/shell and collar (and starts auto cycle).
2. Unloads welded shell.
3. Monitors controls of welder (temp, cycle time, amp's-volts).
4. Maintains equipment (changes wire spools, adjusts weld heads, performs required Preventive Maintenance, etc.).
5. Changes over equipment for various size shells.
6. Inspects weld and records results per First Article Instructions and/or Work Instructions if required; makes appropriate system adjustments as a result of the inspection process.

Bottom Press
7. Loads bottom press w/shell and bottom (and starts cycle).
8. Unloads bottom press.
9. Monitors equipment to insure that it is functioning properly.
10. Maintains equipment (performs required Preventive Maintenance, etc.) and tooling.
11. Changes over equipment for various size shells.
12. Inspects shell and records results per First Article Instructions and/or Work Instructions if required; makes appropriate system adjustments as a result of the inspection process.

Bottom Welder
13. Loads welder w/shell (and starts cycle-auto).
14. Unloads welded shell to conveyor.
15. Monitors controls of welder (cycle time, amps).
16. Maintains equipment (changes wire spools, adjusts weld heads, performs required Preventive Maintenance, etc.)
17. Changes over equipment for various size shells.
18. Inspects weld and records results per First Article Instructions and/or Work Instructions if required; makes appropriate system adjustments as a result of the inspection process.

Material Handling System (Elevator)
19. Manually palletizes the shells in the event of a Material Handling equipment breakdown.
20. Changes over equipment for various size shells.
21. Maintains equipment (adjusts photo eye's, performs required Preventive Maintenance, etc.).
22. Inspects shells for scratches and records results per First Article Instructions and/or work Instructions if required; makes appropriate system adjustments as a result of inspection process.
23. Performs housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
