Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

Operation of equipment including: tool set up and changes, gaging parts, machinery preventive maintenance, housekeeping, and record keeping.

General
 Responsible to know, understand and comply with all departmental, site, and company policies and procedures.
 Participates in training and personal development; Trains other department personnel.
 Ensures personal operation certification is current and regularly uses certification documentation as a training tool. Operator Certification and Process Documentation are the foundation of Standard Work in machining.
 Actively lead / participate as needed in continuous improvement that improves safety, cost, quality, and delivery.
 Flexible work hours as needed to support any shift.
 Completes all duties assigned
Safety
 Actively engages in assuring the continual well-being of themselves and their co-workers.
 Understands safe machine operation adhering to Certification Training, Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analysis, LOTO, Process Documentation, etc.
Production
 Uses a variety of machines to remove metal from castings / raw materials in order to create the proper characteristics and dimensions in accordance with the process documentation.
 Achieve daily production goals.
 Uses material handling equipment including hoists and forklifts to move parts.
 Works with peers, support staff, trades, etc. to maintain / repair equipment.
 Expedites and manages tool change processes; monitors tool usage and tool cost for the operations. Raises issues to minimize cost and quality exposures.
 Conduct daily machine start-up and preventative maintenance tasks on time.
 Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and machine cleaning tasks and performs planned operator care and maintenance tasks that are defined as part of the production work.
 Obtain and/or maintain a fork truck license as requested / needed.
Quality
 Follows process documentation to perform quality checks using gages and other measuring devices;
 Performs rework, scrap transactions, identifies and controls nonconforming materials.
 Communicates needed process documentation updates as appropriate to support staff, required to stay current with product and process changes.
 Collects, analyzes and displays operating data.
 Engages cross functionally in formal use of common problem-solving technique when issues arise.
 Participates in improvement projects;
Teamwork
 Communicates effectively within the team and with all the support teams.
 Responsible to learn and complete certification on several operations and other team related tasks as determined with the area team manager.
 Demonstrates Flexibility. Manages personal work hours to best support the business including working alternate shifts as required.
 Understand team cost goals and is engaged in helping the team manage cost.
 Completes work with minimal supervision.
 Manage time well and work productively.
 Operates within team-based work system and rotates job routine as needed.
 Take on vertical tasks and other jobs associated with TBWS.

Qualifications:
Education, Licenses, Certifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.

Experience
Minimal Experience. Described performing skills present.
Six months work experience preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
Base hourly rate commensurate with experience.
