This is a 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm) position located in York, PA that requires state journeyman's papers. Starting rate of pay is $22.22 plus .50 shift differential.
The job consists of performing standard and special operations to plan, lay out, set up and operate machine tools with a wide range of capacities to machine development, repair and production parts.
Operations include working from drawings, orders, sketches, process sheets, instructions. Set up, operate machine tools to perform necessary operations to produce or repair equipment, machine tools, die, jig, fixture, tool and production parts. Plan, lay out work, provide for fit, clearance, bending allowance, centering, make all necessary calculations. Select, set gauges, tooling, speeds, feeds, determine operation sequence, device special tooling, clamping and holding methods as required. Dimension parts. Maintain set up, change tooling.
Use precision measuring instruments, hand, hand power tools, appropriate material handling equipment.
Use shop mathematics, handbook formulas. Work from complicated drawings or sketches. Use all type of precision measuring instruments. Thorough knowledge of machine shop practices and technology, machine tool operations, working qualities of materials.
Highly diversified work. Duties to plan, lay out, set up, operate machine tools to machine development, repair, production parts. Considerable judgment required to plan, perform unusual and difficult work where only general operation methods are available
Moderate physical effort working continuously with light weight or frequently with average weight materials while making set ups, moving material, loading, unloading parts. Crane available.
Continuous mental, visual attention required where work is diversified operating, setting up machine tools.
