Role Summary:

GE Power in Schenectady, NY is seeking current students who have completed at least one full year of course studies (30+ credits relevant to their degree) by May of 2016 in one of the AOS/AAS programs (or similar) listed below:

+ Computer Integrated Machining Technology

+ Precision Machining & Tooling

+ Machine Tool Technology

+ Advanced Manufacturing Technology

+ CNC Machinist Technology

Essential Responsibilities:

The Machining Internship Program is a 10-week, paid program designed to provide a unique learning experience for highly motivated students who are interested in pursuing a career in machining upon graduation. The program pays about $17/hour for a 40 hour work week. A $600/month housing stipend is also available to students whose residence is more than 50 miles away from the site. Interns will be paired with current team members in numerous machining roles to learn more about the trade and to demonstrate their abilities. If successful in the internship, there is opportunity for full time employment upon graduation.

Qualifications/Requirements:

+ High School Diploma / GED with at least one full year of course studies in one of the AOS / AAS degree programs (or equivalent) listed above

Eligibility Requirements:

+ Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment, for example safety glasses, gloves, hats, and safety shoes

+ Ability and willingness to work in a tobacco-free environment

Desired Characteristics:

+ GPA of 3.2 or greater
