Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding various production machines, support equipment and facilities. This job is considered a working leadership position.
Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of
equipment, and skill of personnel.
Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent,
detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts.
Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools or gauges to verify conformance to
standards or repair requirements.
Develop, implement, or evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.
Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor, or outside contractors.
Examine objects, systems, or facilities and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or
Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working
Perform skilled repair or maintenance operations, using equipment such as hand or power tools, hydraulic presses
or shears, or welding equipment.
Participate in budget preparation and administration, coordinating purchasing and documentation and monitoring
Interpret specifications, blueprints, or job orders to construct templates and lay out reference points for workers.
Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, or disciplinary
Review, evaluate, accept, and coordinate completion of work bid from contractors.
Compile operational or personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair or maintenance statistics, or test results.
Develop or implement electronic maintenance programs or computer information management systems.
Design equipment configurations to meet personnel needs.
Oversee all maintenance functions to ensure proper safe preventive maintenance of physical plant and all operating equipment
Implement and maintain TPM program throughout facility.
Lead, train and support, and direct all maintenance personnel.
Focus on minimizing equipment downtime to support maximum production capacity and efficiency.
Maintain proper records of maintenance and service activities.
Responsible for scheduling and directing outside services used in supporting equipment and facilities.
Work with Environmental consultant to insure the company is in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
Provide full support of all Lean activities and initiatives.
Perform other incidental duties as may be required.
Education: Associate's Degree (two-year college or technical school) Required, Field of
5 plus years of experience in machine mechanical maintenance
2 plus years of experience in management
Minimum 5 years in repair and support with experience in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures that pertain to the manufacturing industry, and minimum 2 years in a management position.
Electrical license preferred.
Other Requirements: General knowledge in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and
other industrial related areas.
Knowledge of CNC controls a plus, particularly with FANUC controls.
Knowledge of multi-spindle screw machines, a plus.
Work environment is office, manufacturing and/or an outside environment.
