Adecco is assisting a local client recruiting for a reliable Maintenance Mechanic in Arden, NC. This is for a long term temporary opportunity that will give you valuable experience to enhance your career. This is a Direct Hire Position.
Responsibilities for this Maintenance Mechanic job include:
¿ Sets up new equipment by specifications
¿ Performs basic welding and brazing duties
¿ Assists with training associates on lift equipment
¿ Completes PM projects as assigned including the power equipment PM program and associated records
¿ Troubleshoots, maintains and completes PM material handling equipment (sorter, conveyor, etc.)
¿ Logs activities into the Maintenance Status File
¿ Performs other maintenance duties as necessary (basic/general maintenance duties)
¿ Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor or team leader
¿ Works with team members in support of process improvements and cost reductions
¿ Understands team objectives within assigned work area
¿ Applies basic skills and procedural knowledge within assigned work area
¿ Reports to work as scheduled, using time clock system
Skills & Abilities:
¿ Maintain valid NC driver¿s license.
¿ Knowledge of lock-out/tag-out devices.
¿ Ability to receive and maintain certification for operating company powered industrial equipment
¿ Good welding, brazing, carpentry and plumbing skills
¿ Ability to read flow charts, schematics and blue prints
¿ Knowledge of electronic test equipment
¿ Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
¿ Good knowledge of conveyance systems
¿ Must be on rotational call
¿ Excellent mathematical aptitude
¿ Good recordkeeping skills
¿ Good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
¿ Ability to work independently or in team as assigned
¿ Quality conscious and detail oriented
¿ Flexibility - will be required to perform other work duties, overtime and extended hours as needed
¿ Understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
Education and Experience:
¿ High school diploma or GED required
¿ Previous maintenance experience required including, but not limited to performing PM¿s on all equipment including lift equipment (order picker, forklift, etc.) and conveyance systems; reading flow charts, schematics and blue prints; working with electronic test equipment, hydraulics and pneumatics; and performing welding and brazing skills.
¿ Has license in electrical, HVAC or other similar areas of licensing preferred
¿ Previous PC/RF experience preferred; basic keyboarding skills; computer literate (knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word)
¿ Lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend and stoop for up to 8 hours at a time
¿ Ability to work at heights (overhead conveyors, outbound trash line, sorter, etc) by climbing stairs or ladder or use of scissor lift
¿ Ability to work on all equipment throughout the facility ¿ which will require the ability to bend, stoop, crawl, reach, work from knees or back to access equipment
¿ Good hand/eye coordination
¿ Ability to work in confined areas
¿ Ability to work around moving machinery/equipment
¿ Stand for duration of work shift and walk/move continuously
¿ Adjust to climate changes; hot and cold extremes may occur in warehouse
¿ Lift up to 60 pounds or more; some work duties require overhead lifting
