Maintenance Mechanic A Battery

Job Description:

Maintains all process machinery and plant equipment in operating condition, performs complete job changes (mold changes and setups) on production equipment, and maintains buildings, facilities, and offices.

Process machinery, plant equipment, and facilities include: injection molding presses, molds, grinders, pumps, motors, blenders, compressors, boilers, lighting and electrical systems, conveying systems, robots, automatic handling equipment, assembly machinery, and other specialized equipment and systems.

Maintains and installs: process piping, valves, timers, thermocouples, fittings, gauges, solenoids, switches, etc., and all types of hydraulic, pneumatic, steam, and air systems.

Sets up, removes, inspects, and maintains molds of all sizes and complexities in an automatic or semi-automatic press so that molds and presses are ready for production. Makes insert changes, disassembles, cleans, and reassembles molds according to production requirements. Installs and removes auxiliary equipment such as insert loads, material dryers, shrink fixtures, hot stamp machines, conveyors, sprue separators, test equipment, etc.

Requires diversified and skilled work using a high degree of independent initiative and good judgment and the ability to improvise and adapt where necessary. Analyzes plans, directs, and performs complex work to install, maintain, repair, and modify plant facilities, machines, and equipment. Requires considerable knowledge, skill, and experience in such areas or fields as machine tools, electrical and mechanical theory and practice, electronics, robotics, heating and air conditioning, plumbing, sheet metal, carpentry, etc.

Lubricates machines and equipment and performs other plant maintenance as required. Develops and maintains blueprints. Instructs, directs, and trains other employees. Keeps spare parts inventory for various machines and equipment. Consults and works closely with plant engineering and management. Recognizes the need for, and seeks, appropriate assistance as necessary.

Job Qualifications:

- High School Education
- Industrial Maintenance Experience
- Overtime Mandatory
