Maintenance Mechanic

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
In your role as Maintenance Mechanic at Kellogg, you will be part of our success by:
  • Demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment, such as; mechanical systems, valves, gear boxes, conveyance systems
  • Knowing how to use basic hand tools and industrial shop equipment to perform job assignments
  • Responding to equipment break downs in a timely manner
  • Demonstrating the ability to communicate technical subjects verbally and written to co-workers and vendors
  • Installing and maintaining all types of mechanical equipment used in the plant.
  • Minimizing downtime by fast and accurate troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.
  • Repairing and adjusting machinery to factory tolerances, including the fabrication of parts where required.

Qualifications:
WHAT DO I NEED TO DEMONSTRATE?
As well as a hunger to learn and succeed in Manufacturing, to be considered for the Maintenance Mechanic role, you must be able to meet the following requirement.

Required :
    High School Diploma or GED Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office the ability to use the system appropriate to record work orders and PMs Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Sitting, standing, walking, lifting and / or repetitive tasks throughout the day. Employee will be required to occasionally lift up to 50lbs Must have either served a four-year apprenticeship or acquired an equivalent amount of practical experience
Preferred:

    Previous experience working in a food manufacturing plant or Journeyman Mechanic. Prior experience performing repairs on industrial equipment Ability to set up and operate machine shop tools with a high degree of proficiency and to close tolerances Ability to do electric and gas welding and brazing, including inert gas welding of stainless steel and aluminum Ability to work from sketches, prints or other parts. Must have a broad general knowledge of mechanical principles with regard to gears, chains, belts, cams, and other inpans of mechanical power transmission Ability to diagnose reasons for mechanical failures Ability to do some rigging, millwright work, and sheet metal fabrication. Must have own hand tools

The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.
