JOB TITLE: Maintenance Person / Handyman
STATUS: Salary / Full Time / Direct Hire
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager
Hours: Monday through Thursday with option to work overtime on Friday and Saturday (not required just optional). 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Salary: Based on expereicne
Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors,
pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following:
Complete routine/minor repairs.
Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Trouble shooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Repairs or replaces defective mechanical/electrical parts.
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
Lubricates and cleans parts and equipment.
Starts devices to test their performance.
Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder and metalworking tools to make or repair parts.
Makes recommendations for required parts for repairing equipment.
Cross training in existing processes and new processes.
Facility maintenance including buildings & grounds.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
Ability to complete all jobs or tasks with little supervision.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Three to five years related experience and/or training
or equivalent combination of education and experience along with supervisory experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions,
Ability to read exploded view prints and gather part number for replacements.
Ability to read Electrical schematics.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference,
and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions,
percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in
written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by
an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use
hand to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must frequently lift and /or move 50-70-pounds or more.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
JOB PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
Pass all audits (internal and/or external). (Example: Internal Insurance Audit, OSHA, etc.)
Adherence to all company safety rules.
Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
Makes timely repairs to equipment to limit downtime.
Completes all required documentation timely and accurately.
Does not exceed the allowed number of absences as defined in the employee manual.
Exhibits flexibility/willingness to learn new technologies/techniques, and new processes.
Exhibits ability to apply new processes.
