This position works independently to ensure timely, effective coverage of maintenance functions. The position is responsible for the oversight/supervision of Maintenance Technicians. The position provides technical process/innovation/project implementation support throughout the facility. The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel, including the mechanically challenged, is of significant importance within this position. The ability to coordinate jobs and changes, complete and follow up after finished. This position must be able to coach and mentor people to understand the details of the processes.
Scheduling, training, and supervision of Maintenance Technicians.
Communicate with manufacturing department regarding issues that need to be addressed by the maintenance department.
Coordinate, with production and freezer/warehouse departments, changeovers and moving of equipment to storage.
Work with CAD operator on design specification drawings for parts.
Work with vendors and contractors.
Coach/train Maintenance Technicians in preventative maintenance functions and troubleshooting of machinery in order to reduce downtime and maximize efficiencies.
Develop and follow established standard operating procedures for safety, health, environment, and production.
WCM and 5s advancement across the facility.
Lead the ENV Pillar
Drive Sustainability in Factory
Lead site PSM Program
Lead Small CPEX Project to drive continuous improvements
Actively participate in the PM Pillar, and be the link between the PM and EEM Pillars.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical& PLC problems, making changes as needed.
Supervise/manage/direct/ schedule all activities for Maintenance Technicians.
Coordinate Weekend/Shut-Down maintenance functions.
Other activities as assigned.
Variable, consisting of both the office environment and the manufacturing floor. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery and ammonia. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment, bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, sanitary footwear, and flame retardant uniform.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
BS degree in Engineering or related discipline.
Ammonia Refrigeration and/or PSM
5-10 years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work with and lead teams comprised of all personnel levels.
Ability to work a variety of shift schedules.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel.
