ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment
* Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and communicates machine operation variations with supervisors, manufacturing engineers or other maintenance works to diagnose problems and/or repair machinery
* Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic parts
* Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery
* Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
* Lays out assembly, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment
* Works with Facilities Manager, manufacturing engineering and supervisors to ensure maintenance operations are performed in a safe manner
* Assists manufacturing engineering in improving the process and quality of existing or new equipment
* Troubleshoots and repairs automated machinery and equipment using programmable logic controllers
* Sets up and operates machine tools such as the lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools
* Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
* Must be flexible to work any shift, overtime and weekends as needed
* Maintain maintenance aspects of ISO 14001 environmental system
* Responsible for maintaining EPA Guidelines with respect hazardous/non-hazardous waste and air quality
* Must be team oriented, highly motivated and able to work independently
* Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical procedure manuals, metric/standard drawings, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic diagrams, PLC ladder programs and government regulations
* Ability to effectively communicate with production workers, department managers and outside vendors on equipment status or projects
