Essential Functions:

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, modifying, rebuilding and maintaining plant equipment. This person will perform preventive maintenance on equipment and make repairs or improvements as needed.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

The incumbent recognizes that accident and injury prevention are equal in importance to production, quality, delivery, recovery and cost control. The incumbent accepts the responsibility to work safely and promote safety consciousness among other employees.

  • Operate mobile equipment including forklift, manlift, scissorlift, and overhead cranes.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to ensure minimum interruption to process.

  • Multi-task job function that includes assisting mechanics and operators as necessary.

  • Ability to make decisions on equipment repairs and be self motivated.

  • Read and understand electrical schematics/blueprints.

  • Requires using precision instruments to align and take measurements of equipment that is being modified or installed.

  • Own set of basic hand tools.
  • Working knowledge of all or some of the following: Combustion Systems, High Voltage, HVAC, AC and DC Motors, Electrical/Electronic Circuits, PLC’s, Conduit threading, bending and installation, AC and DC drives.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; walk; use stairs and ladders; use hands and arms to reach, handle, or manipulate equipment or materials.The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds, and be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to work within extreme cold/hot temperatures.The employee must be willing to work a rotating schedule.
