About the Job
As a Major Account Representative - Blended Sourcing person ("MAR-B" for short), you will sell Waste Management recycling services to large, complex accounts, and will also maintain and retain a book of business. We anticipate a 75 / 25 split, where you'll spend 75% of your time "hunting" down and closing new business opportunities, and 25% of your time "farming" current accounts, managing and retaining them.
In the recycling world, the typical sales script is flipped in that we are paying the customer to secure their recyclable material instead of them paying us. We're procuring tons (literally) of material, whether it's cardboard, plastic, metal, or paper, and then processing it through our local Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs). Finally, we sell the re-purposed product on the back-end to the international market. Since we're targeting so much material at a time (again, tons), our typical client will be large manufacturing facilities, industrial complexes, and distributorships. Some examples include aerospace, food distributors, and shredders.

While you will manage some accounts, we want you to be a HUNTER at heart. You are an accomplished sales person. You are adept at infiltrating an organization to uncover the key decision makers and can strategically create a wonderful partnership with them, creating value on both sides. You're motivated to not only achieve your goal, but to exceed it in whatever way possible. You have a relentless, "never say die" attitude and you love a good challenge. And, oh yes, you want to make some money while doing it!

You'd be working for an awesome manager, Fred Papp (feel free to look him up on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/fred-papp-749776/) who leads a team of dynamic sales professionals. Fred prides himself on training his people and bringing them along through hands-on guidance. Fred isn't worried if you don't have prior waste and recycling sales experience. He can teach that part. If you have the proper attitude and willingness to learn, then success with Fred is inevitable.
About our Minimum Requirements
At a minimum, you will need to have a Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) coupled with 4 years of sales experience. With a Bachelor's Degree, you'll need to have 3 years of business-to-business (B2B) sales experience (in addition to the education requirement), which means that you've cold called and prospected via phone and in-person in order to obtain customer appointments.
About our Preferred Requirements
We'd prefer that you have extensive B2B sales experience specifically in a hunter capacity. This is a major account rep type of role, which means that it's a step up from your typical outside sales position. As such, you'll be an accomplished sales rep, with many accolades to show for it. You'll easily be able to highlight your achievements and successes and should be proud to share them! Also, you'll be able to navigate a CRM tool pretty easily - and if it's Salesforce.com , then we're in business!
