Manager, Business Development & Relations

Oracle Startup Cloud Accelerator

Serve as the main liaison between the Oracle Startup Cloud Accelerator and product development and sales teams, focusing on business development, relations and synergies that drive business success for Oracle startup partners, Oracle customers and Oracle. Startups are at the heart of innovation and they are driving change from the smallest companies to the largest enterprises. We are trying to re-imagine the startup enterprise relationship, creating strong partnerships where all parties win and we drive innovations for the future. A key part of that is evangelizing the importance of working with startups-co-innovating and co-developing-where we create solutions for our customers as well as a path for business growth for our startups. Show the value and ROI to sales and product development that the startup program can deliver. Overall, we need to change perceptions outside and inside of Oracle in regards to the startup ecosystem. This position will focus on internal change. Position will report to Oracle SVP and global program lead for Oracle Startup Cloud Accelerator.

  • Conduct due diligence on understanding the priorities from both sales and product development on the taking the Oracle Public Cloud to the start up ecosystem.
  • Evangelize the importance of startups across the Oracle ecosystem and bridge communications and create collaboration and ongoing communications. Be an evangelist for the Oracle Startup Cloud Accelerator.
  • Educate and communicate the importance of the startup enterprise relationship. Educational content can include internal webinars where we showcase successful startup case studies and educate the field.
  • Drive the necessary business, strategic and technical relationships within both communities to drive sales strategy.
  • Work closely with the Oracle sales team to drive the day-to-day interactions with the portfolio companies in order to build long-term business opportunity.
  • Work closely with product development to ensure our startups align with Oracle's strategic cloud vision and product strategy - help to create strong "fits" between our startups and potential product synergies and integrations.
  • Develop framework around Global Mentor & Alumni program; begin research and identification of global advisors for program.

The ideal candidate will posses both a business background that enables them to drive consensus within the sales and the product development teams, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with startup founders, software developers and architects. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, target market and technical challenges, with the ability to convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership, drive is a must, as is the ability to leverage and motivate Oracle global organization to achieve results. Strong communications skills are a must. Customer / client relations experience a plus. Position is based out of Oracle HQ at Redwood Shores, CA.
