Current Need

McKesson Corporate is seeking a Manager, Corporate Communications to join their team in San Francisco, CA.

 
Position Description
  • Manages executive communications programs tied to business priorities and communications objectives
  • Writes and edits engaging content on behalf of senior leaders, including memos, thought leadership articles, blogs, speeches and stakeholder letters
  • Coordinates and coaches senior leaders for external speaking engagements, media interviews, stakeholder events as well as internal town halls and employee meetings
  • Collaborates with Corporate Communications colleagues and communicators across McKesson to promote interactions between senior leaders and employees
  • Works closely with contracted writers to ensure consistent tone of voice that reflects senior leaders’ individual styles
  • Quickly evaluates and capitalizes on timely executive communications opportunities
  • Continually incorporates the latest technologies and best practices to amplify executive communications
 
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Writes and edits engaging content on behalf of senior leaders, including memos, thought leadership articles, blogs, speeches and stakeholder letters
  • Coordinates and coaches senior leaders for external speaking engagements, media interviews, stakeholder events as well as internal town halls and employee meetings
  • Collaborates with Corporate Communications colleagues and communicators across McKesson to promote interactions between senior leaders and employees
  • Leverage online resources and training to stay current with project management skills and monitor industry trends in journalism and multimedia news
 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
8+ years communications experience

Critical Skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications, presentation, proofreading and editing skills
  • Skilled in working with senior leaders and leading through influence
  • Experience with all stages of content creation: research, reporting, interviewing, writing, editing, production, and publishing
  • Experience planning and orchestrating events (e.g. all-hands calls, town halls, stakeholder events)
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, changing environment and manage multiple assignments with concurrent deadlines
  • An individual who is highly collaborative, focused and persistent
  • Experience with social networks and social media (e.g. Yammer, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) is a plus
 

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work calmly and maintain good judgment in fast-paced environments
  • Curious mindset and a problem solver
  • Ability to take feedback and incorporate it quickly
  • Experience in U.S. healthcare industry a plus

Education
4-year degree in journalism, communications, business or related field or equivalent experience
