Prudential El Paso is seeking a talented Manager, Cyber Security to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving, managing and growing Prudential’s Cyber Security capability within Pramerica. The role will involve close collaboration with the Prudential Information Security office (ISO) and adherence to Enterprise and Global security standards and strategies.

The key element of responsibility for this role will be the evolution of application and mobile security capabilities. This will involve integrating security testing (dynamic and static) into the early stages of the Development Lifecycle process. The role will also include the management of Vulnerability engineers and Threat analysis within Prudential’s CSOC (Cyber Security Operations Center). The successful candidate will lead and direct a team of talented security practitioners to continuously expand capabilities and improve the security environment within the organization.

The primary responsibility is the protection of Prudential assets.

Additional Responsibilities include:
  • Setting a vision and strategy for Pramerica Cyber Security that supports both the ISO and Pramerica
  • Providing direction, information, and education on security risks, directives, tools, and technologies
  • Identification of new Cyber security talent
  • The growth and development of existing talent to support the dynamic environment in which we operate
  • Working with the Pramerica devops capability as well as with other deployment methods used within Prudential to build a secure SDLC for multiple business units
  • Implement metrics that provide meaningful oversight and support correctable actions to improve service on an ongoing basis
  • Working closely with multiple business partners to ensure the satisfaction of services provided
  • Development of security best practices
  • Collaboration to create and maintain an effective information security architecture that provides appropriate levels of security across all platforms and technologies
  • Creating an environment where offensive strategies are integrated with the defensive strategies of the enterprise

  • A proven record of Cyber Security Management experience across multiple security disciplines in a large financial services environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, preferably with a focus on cyber security, related discipline or equivalent work experience required
  • Cyber Security certifications are highly preferred
  • Genuine interest and drive to constantly research and acquire knowledge of cyber security trends, happenings, best practices and cases studies in the financial security industry
  • Proven ability to transform and grow a cyber security capability in an ever-changing environment would be a strong plus
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships and effectively interface with executive and senior level partners throughout Pramerica and Prudential
  • Strong influencing skills as both resource oversight and business partner level
  • Strong consultancy skills and the ability to translate security and systems language into business context

  • Knowledge of SQL, XML, SOAP, REST, AJAX, Python
  • Web application design and development experience
  • An understanding of DevOps and experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with security in a cloud environment, AWS preferably or other cloud technologies such as Azure
