The Manager of Corporate Expense Allocations is responsible for oversight of the US expense allocations processes.  This position provides governance and oversight of Corporate US expense allocations, hierarchy management, and planning processes.  The manager provides support to the Corporate Service Providers (COH) and Lines of Business (LOB) Operations by playing a key role in the monthly close process which includes the review and approval of expense allocation, chart field, and budget change requests and the verification of expense allocation results for all financial reporting scenarios (Actuals, Budget, and Forecast).  Additionally this position is responsible for leading the expense allocation planning processes which includes the development and/or compilation of expense prorates, reporting of post allocated change impacts for incremental changes across all reporting scenarios (Budget, Actual, and Forecast), and supporting the business in troubleshooting unexpected LOB results.

 

 

Accounting / Reporting

  • Enforce key controls established to ensure the validity and accuracy of expense allocations and general ledger expense chart field change requests
  • Verify and analyze expense allocation results across all financial reporting scenarios on a timely basis for monthly/quarterly/annual financial close and projection signoffs and for meetings with senior management
  • Understand and explain the enterprise’s overall expense allocation methodology and approach as well as compile and maintain documentation supporting discrete LOB and Corporate Function organizational level expense allocation methodology
  • Partner with US and International regional teams to understand and explain US Home office expense and how allocated
  • Support reporting and analysis requirements for US GAAP, US STAT and other country financial reports and disclosures
  • Act independently in accordance with company/function/ departmental objectives and issues with end results reviewed by senior management
  • Develop and maintain the metrics and processes necessary for consistent and complete analytics across segments and legal entities
  • Communicate significant issues/trends to senior management with concise recommendations for approval
  • Review and approve general ledger accounting journal entries for operating expenses
  • Manage a team of Finance Consultants and/or Analysts (US and/or Non-US GOSC Support)
  • Ensure critical path deliverables are coordinated with staff and completed on a timely basis
  • Maintain auditable supporting documentation and SOX compliance

 

 

  • Typically requires 8+ years of experience in a public or private company environment with 4+ years leading people/projects
  • BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Advanced background in accounting and financial reporting (GAAP and Statutory)
  • Very strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and project management skills
  • Must be able to communicate very complex, sensitive and strategic information effectively and easily
  • Must continually meet established deadlines
  • Influence partners and customer requirements
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Global financial experience preferred
  • Highly proficient in financial reporting systems
