The Risk Management Organization

Risk Management - Financial Insurance Programs

The Manager of Financial Programs will report to the Director - Risk Management & Insurance and will have overall responsibility for managing the financial programs insurance renewal and administration. This position requires excellent communications and interpersonal skills as well as strong presentation skills. This position will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Manage all aspects of the Financial/Executive Lines program which includes Cyber/Errors & Omissions, Directors & Officers, Fiduciary, Employment Practices, and Patent Liability
  • Renew the Special Crime Risks program and improve coverage wherever possible

  • Oversee preparation of and verify the submission to insurance carriers including exposure information for numerous Verizon subsidiaries

  • Create renewal presentations to senior management; work with internal groups to prepare for annual meetings with New York, London, and Bermuda markets

  • Negotiate policy wording & suggest improvements to program structure and terms/conditions

  • Manage Risk Management Information Systems

  • Supervise several outside contractors and insurance brokers in accomplishing Risk Management objectives

  • Maintain historical data on all programs and receipt of billing and documentation related to programs’ placement

  • Review insurance language for contracts and support internal clients

  • Prepare risk management data for M&A activity, liaise with internal and external contacts

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
  • Six years work experience in a corporate risk management department or commercial insurance brokerage firm or related position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Strong social interaction skills
  • Excellent presentation skills; comfortable with presenting to executives

Even better if you have:

  • Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent
  • A professional certification (e.g. ARM, CPCU, CPA, CFA).
  • Proven ability to establish strong working relationships across teams (e.g. Legal, IT, Sourcing, Operations, Insurers and Brokers).
