 Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Manager Global Executive Talent Acquisition to join its Executive Talent Acquisition team and support the Consumer business. This position will report to the Global Head of Executive Recruitment and will be based in New Brunswick, NJ.
The Manager Global Executive Talent Acquisition will be accountable for understanding the business strategies, aligned talent strategies and turning those strategies into actionable sourcing and recruiting plans. The Manager Global Executive Talent Acquisition will bring robust market knowledge, sourcing and assessment skills, to drive optimal sourcing and talent decisions with the goal of building leadership bench strength and driving succession capability. The Manager Global Executive Talent Acquisition will execute senior executive searches, lead Global Talent Market Surveys, while researching and providing ongoing market intelligence to the team.
The Manager Global Executive Talent Acquisition will also have the opportunity play a key role in building out the newly created in-house Johnson & Johnson executive search team. The Manager Global Executive Talent Acquisition will Conduct research and execute robust sourcing strategies to attract highly skilled and credentialed candidates to Johnson & Johnson. This includes:
  • developing job descriptions, search strategies and target lists.
  • Prepare for search kick-off meetings, including the preparation of a drafted target list, researching industry and relevant products and preparing “get smart” materials.
  • Set and manage the research strategy—includes identifying viable candidates and sources using research tools, managing outside contractors and keeping the potential candidate pipeline filled throughout the search process.
  • Contact prospective candidates and knowledgeable industry sources who can recommend likely candidates and who can help guide the creation of a pool of diverse candidates (“sourcing”).
  • Call potential candidates and screen for interest and qualification (“candidate development”). Recommend, in writing, prospects who should be interviewed by the hiring team (outlining the pros, areas of opportunity, areas to probe further, recruitment issues, compensation).
  • Enter all research generated for each search into the search management database.
  • Assist in the preparation of written documentation to internal clients and candidates (status reports, weekly update emails, thank you notes, etc).
  • Conduct reference checks on finalist candidates to explore strengths, areas of opportunity and uncover potential issues.
  • Manage and execute talent market surveys to identify potential external successors for key executive positions.
  • The Manager Global Executive Talent Acquisition will also manage external search firm vendors, as needed.
  • Partner with HR leaders to assist with transition and onboarding for new executives. Provide substantive and competency-based feedback to al prospects.
  • Ensure an exceptional hiring manager and candidate experience.
  • Positively represent and differentiate the Johnson & Johnson employment brand in the talent marketplace.
  • Mine news and key websites for industry intelligence and regularly share that intelligence with team mates and business leaders to inform optimal business and talent decisions.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of seven years of research, candidate development and recruiting experience in either a retained search firm, agency and/or corporate recruitment environment required.
  • Experience in both a corporate environment and a search firm preferred.
  • Track record of developing and executing innovative sourcing strategies that result in identification and delivery of high caliber, highly compensated executives required.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit diverse individuals and ability to negotiate and consult on complex compensation packages is required.
  • Understanding of legal issues that impact executive recruiting activities, namely restrictive covenants required.
  • Ability to translate a business strategy into an actionable recruiting strategy required.
  • Strong Microsoft office knowledge (Word, Excel and PPT), applicant tracking systems (i.e. TALEO) and search management systems (Encore, Filefinder or Avature, etc) required.
  • Exceptional communication (both written and verbal), influencing and negotiation skills required.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with thorough attention to detail required.
  • Exceptional talent assessment and interviewing skills required.
  • Strong business acumen with a thirst for business knowledge required.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multi-task and make decisions in a business context is required.
  •  A “big picture” perspective with an operational mindset required.
  • Experience in at least two of the following businesses (Consumer, Supply Chain, Corporate, Pharmaceutical) highly preferred.
