Adecco Direct Hire is currently recruiting on behalf of its client in the Detroit area for the newly created role of Business Development Manager. This is an exciting opportunity which carries strategic importance for the development of the business' growth over the next five years. You will ideally have a strong logistics and supply chain background but the ability to lead and be a creative influence is of importance.
You will have:
Excellent communication and presentation skills coupled with the drive and desire to offer market leading supply-chain support solutions to both intra-company as well as external clients.
Complex supply chain related analysis
Proven track record of meeting set objectives, whether revenue or KPI based.
Previous business development experience encompassing new business and account management within the freight forwarding or automotive industry.
Negotiation skills and ability to establish, develop and nurture both professional and profitable relationships with customers and third-party service providers.
Possessing the business acumen and ability to liaise, sell and develop relationships at senior level.
Must have proven experience of multi-modal international transport.
Proven track of key-accounts retention.
Tenacity to see things through and overcome issues and problems.
Excellent organizational and time management skills necessary to manage multiple projects, objectives and deadlines.
Pro-active and able to identify areas of improvement or concern and to make recommendations and implement solutions.
Experience in international network logistics.
"Best in class" customer services with previous customer-facing experience.
Experience of preparation and management of budgets.
IT literate with working knowledge of MS Office applications and exposure to logistics modeling software applications is a significant plus.
Must be prepared to travel internationally and domestically.
You will be responsible for:
Manage assigned / matrix resource to deliver targeted strategic growth both for internal customers and external customers
Maintain key account contacts with top accounts and assume global responsibility for a specific business unit
Ensure quality presentations to external and internal partners ensuring robust brand identity is preserved and company values are clearly demonstrated at all times
Create capacity for projects to be promptly and efficiently delivered through a structured and robust projects/matrix team.
Identify areas for Continuous Improvement via analysis to meet and ideally exceed sales and margin targets
Be comfortable handling and manipulating complex data and be able to develop solutions in collaboration with Operations Group to achieve strategic objectives and growth
