The Manager of IT&S Performance Improvement is responsible for day to day operations of the IT&S Lean Six Sigma Department including the following:
  • Resource Management
  • Lean Six Sigma training Program
  • Process Improvement Initiatives at the enterprise, department and team level
  • Identifying and developing target projects for future improvements
  • Assigning projects to process engineers in the department
  • Departmental reporting
  • Oversight of the Mentoring program
  • Direct Mentoring of Division Program leads and Black Belts
  • Execution of Black Belt level projects
  • Reaching specific continuous improvement savings goals
  • Reaching specific continuous improvement cultural goals
The Manager will work with IT&S leadership to facilitate the adoption of the Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools into the organization.
The Manager will work with the Sr. Director of Process Improvement in the complete execution of the Process Innovation departmental strategic agenda.

  • Leads process improvement discovery and prioritization activities across IT&S, working specifically with AVP and VP level executives as directed by the Sr. Director of Process Innovation.
  • Acts a change leader for continuous process improvement opportunities throughout the organization.
  • Leads project prioritization and initiation efforts.
  • Maintains HCA Six Sigma Black Belt Certification or Master Black Belt Certification.
  • Leverages expertise in Lean/Six Sigma tools and techniques to energize, mentor, and facilitate interdepartmental teams while promoting and environment of trust, teamwork and results.
  • Develops approach, assigns and leads process improvement projects to completion.
  • Leads Green Belts, Black Belts, and subject matter experts (SMEs) across the organization in order to improve key organizational goals.
  • Mentors process improvement trainees and teams through DMADV and DMAIC projects
  • Leads Green Belt and Black Belt candidates to ensure deliverables are completed, deadlines are met, and certification is obtained.
  • Manages the collection of tracking data for all Green Belts and Black Belts throughout their process improvement projects as assigned.
  • Leads training development activities and delivers training to students in a classroom setting.
  • Provides strategic insight into the development of training plans and materials to address the process improvement activities within HCA IT&S
  • Identifies processes that are causing frustration and waste within the organization; subsequently developing projects to address the issues that can be prioritized by Sr. Leadership
  • Analyzes, documents, measures, and improves processes within IT&S and across multiple business departments.
  • Leads the planning and Facilitation of Lean, Kaizen and Rapid process improvement sessions and other multi day problem solving and improvement sessions.
  • Exhibits an in depth working knowledge of workflows and best practices within a large matrix IT organization.
  • Works with the Sr. Director of Process Innovation to establish the strategy for process improvement within HCA IT&S ensuring that all projects are strategically aligned
  • Reviews, provides guidance, and approval on all Green Belts and Black Belts project deliverables.
  • Provides appropriate level of leadership for Green Belts and Black Belts, ensuring leadership participation and engagement and feedback on progress.
  • Works with the Sr. Director of Process Innovation to quantify and publicize the realized benefits of Lean/Six Sigma improvements as it applies to the organization's financial performance.
  • Develop strong working relationships and productive collaboration with project teams, other IT&S teams and our business partners.
  • Support projects while continuing to increase knowledge regarding HCA and process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills required
