The Manager, Project Management & Business Systems has a leadership role within the Professional Relations & Operations Organization. This individual is responsible for leading and implementing operational excellence for key business projects and systems to maintain current business systems and tools, and drive automation, simplicity, and efficiency with new or replacement business systems and tools across J&J Medical Devices.  He/she will also be responsible for administering the Annual Needs Assessment for HCP/E Engagements, and other key projects for PR&O MD, as identified.  He/she will lead day to day operational excellence through collaboration, consistency, and process simplification within MD PR&O and in conjunction with the Medical Device business leaders. Additional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Manages a staff of approximately 10+ people; J&J employees and Outsourced contract team
• Leads and professionally develops a sustainable organization through executing the functional strategies, developing best-in-class service, processes and systems, and maintaining a lean, highly professional operational team.  Requires excellence in execution and actively seeks continuous improvement
• Attracts, develops & retains diversity and talent  
• Operates within a total PR&O operating budget of approximately $27.2 million 
• Adheres to all applicable U.S federal health care program laws and FDA regulations including the Physician Sunshine Act (Open Payments)
• Leads major PR&O business projects, including planning and leading business system projects
• Partnering with and supporting PR&O team members and key business stakeholders to gather voice of customer and resolve system issues and questions
• Lead teams through redesign of complex processes to simplify and drive efficiency and effectiveness, with the ability to identify and analyze requirements for change and solution options against time, cost, resourcing constraints  
• Collaborate closely with Healthcare Compliance, Business Partners, Law Department and Business Colleagues to ensure business needs are met in a timely and compliant manner
• Follow laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times
• Actively support our compliance program-related initiatives and activities
• Execute the Professional Relations Operations strategy for Project Management & Business Systems 
• Lead the design, testing, user training, and implementation of systems and tools that support PR&O and Event Management activities
• Identify and gather requirements to analyze feasibility and plan/lead implementation of system improvements to drive efficiency and simplicity
• Lead key project management initiatives across PR&O organization 
• Lead development and implementation of an annual Needs Assessment across the organization
• Oversee Legal, HCC, and Executive Committee Annual Needs Assessment reviews and approvals
• Manage staff and talent development for the HCP Professional Relations Operations team
• Ensure proper on-boarding, training/development and succession planning, as well as foster a high performance environment and culture of collaboration and innovation and expectation of excellence in execution of work
• Participate in benchmarking J&J and other industries for Best-in-Class Professional Relations services and operations
• Leadership responsibility for assuring necessary tools, policies and procedures are developed and integrated to support and comply with all legal, regulatory and HCC policies to include Advamed, PharMa, ACCME, etc.
• Drive process harmonization and simplification across medical device, and in conjunction with Legal and HCC
• Enable strong collaboration with PR&O teams and stakeholders to drive compliant HCP engagement processes
• Know and follow policies and procedures related to work activities performed in area of responsibility
• Complete training in area of responsibility within allowed time-period
• Training is required for changes in existing policies and procedures, for new assignments and for implementation of new policies and procedures
• Complete required periodic re-training in areas such as safety and environmental compliance  
• Follow all company safety policies and other safety precautions within work area
• Promote safety to all associates that enter work area
• Follow Health Care Compliance guidelines as well as follow operating room training and safety standards (Bloodborne pathogens training, etc.)



Qualifications

• A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree is required
• A minimum of 3 years in progressive business roles is required
• A minimum of 2 years’ supervisory, project management and/or direct people management experience is required 
• Prior project management and business systems experience is required
• Proven ability to understand business strategy; translate it into viable solutions that support the Company’s business goals is required
• Knowledge of federal health care program laws and FDA regulations is required
• Proven leadership ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of professionals, including personnel who may be working in other locations in the US and outside of the US is required
• High technological, database, and business aptitude is required
• Strong facilitation, influence management, and communication skills is required
• PMP certification is preferred
• CCEP (Society for Corporate Compliance & Ethics Professional) is preferred
• Knowledge of J&J and Healthcare Industry systems is preferred
• Prior business system design and implementation experience is preferred
• Expertise in managing multiple tasks and projects, managing win-win resolutions, leveraging techniques, products, services and technologies across organizational boundaries is preferred
• Previously a subject matter expert on significant business transformation projects is preferred
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and across a matrix organization is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to develop internal and external networks is required

This position will be based in Cincinnati, OH, Warsaw, IN, Somerville, NJ, Raynham, MA or West Chester, PA and requires up to 30% travel.
