Manager, Project Management

This role sits within our engineering organization and is responsible for supporting the delivery of key technical and business capabilities as well as effectively anticipating, managing and communicating both timelines and risks to the wider business. As a Project Manager, you will be accountable for the delivery approach and strategy, and in turn supporting and driving the team(s) to deliver to this approach. This will include: ensuring the inputs to engineering are appropriately understood and refined; setting objectives based on data (team data and wider data inputs); managing risks and dependencies to successful conclusions; driving team improvements and influencing resource allocation to ensure the teams are set up for success.

Our Technical Project Managers bring an understanding of systems, their possibilities and limitations, and use this knowledge to translate technology changes back to our product and business needs.

We anticipate that you will:

  • Work with multiple teams on technical projects delivering critical features or components to meet program goals
  • Provide a clear communication and coordination channel between the engineering team and also between engineering and the wider business
  • Partner with our Product and Design teams to aid accurate definition of intent, delivery approach and milestones
  • Be at the center of information flows to reduce meeting overheads and be the go-to person for leading team initiatives
  • Improve the overall productivity of the engineering team, driving improvements to processes or technology changes and actively seek to remove roadblocks to Product change
  • You will provide a clear communication channel within engineering and management and ensure the teams are as efficient and productive as possible, making recommendations for improvements in process

Your experience may look something like this:

  • Proven experience delivering large projects with world-class engineering teams
  • Excellent analytical skills, providing structured thinking and challenge to problems, transforming them into actionable work for the team, coupled with an unwavering desire to deliver for our customers and business.
  • Experience in utilizing appropriate project management frameworks to deliver in a highly technical environment
  • A high level of emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills
  • The necessary technical and business understanding and ability to lead a cross-functional team
  • A credible track record of improving the productivity of engineering teams
  • Well-informed about the latest technology innovations

- Bachelor’s degree or military experience

- At least 5 years’ experience as a program manager, product manager, or business analyst

- At least 4 years’ experience leading cross-functional efforts and working closely with analytics, user research, designers, development teams, and business stakeholders

- At least 3 years’ experience writing formal business and technical requirements and documentation

- At least 3 years of experience using Agile methodologies for product development

Preferred Qualifications:

- Masters / MBA degree

 - PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
