GRM employs in excess of 200 professionals globally with its primary responsibilities consisting of

  • Implementing a corporate risk framework, which outlines our approach for managing risk;
  • Developing policies and procedures for identifying, measuring, monitoring, managing  and controlling those risks identified in the corporate risk framework;
  • Establishing appropriate corporate risk tolerance levels;
  • Deploying capital on an economic basis;
  • Recommending capital allocations on an economic capital basis; and
  • Reporting to (i) the Finance and Risk Committee of MetLife, Inc.’s Board of Directors; (ii) the Investment Committee of MetLife, Inc.’s Board of Directors; and (iii) the financial and non-financial senior management committees on various aspects of risk.



As part of Corporate Risk Management, the Manager, Regulatory Risk and Governance will be responsible for supporting the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Regulatory Reporting and Governance.  Specifically, the candidate will lead governance initiatives that include the financial statement reviews, compensation reviews, risk awareness programs and a variety of risk related projects. The candidate will support the preparation of regulatory responses and reports such as the NAIC Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) and Board and risk committee reporting. The role will require partnering with other departments and within Global Risk Management. The candidate must also be able to present status and deliverables to senior management on an ad hoc basis. Specific responsibilities include:                                                 

  1. Assist in the quarterly and annual review of the financial statements and risk factors.
  2. Support ongoing Board Reporting including the Qualitative Assessment of Capital, Emerging Risks and Top Risks.
  3. Support quarterly reporting to Board and Risk Committees that include but is not limited to the Enterprise Emerging Risk Committee, NAIC ORSA Steering Committee
  4. Support the Emerging Risk Management framework that includes coordination and perform deep-dive emerging and other risk assessments; coordinate information for the Enterprise Emerging Risk Register and Regional Emerging Risk Summary.
  5. Manage GRM’s risk awareness program including but not limited to written articles for a global audience, coordinate and write the GRM newsletter; make recommendations for the program.
  6. Ongoing project management supporting the planned separation, rebranding among others.



  • Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance or accounting is highly preferred; CPA, CFA, FSA is a plus.
  • Prior experience working in the financial services industry, preferably an insurer
  • 5+ year(s) of experience in any of the following fields: regulatory reporting, operational risk, governance
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
