Manager, Retail and Direct Bank Divisional Communications

Works with President of the Retail and Direct Bank to develop and disseminate content and communications related to the overarching divisional strategy of the bank. Responsible for designing, developing, and implementing communication strategies that help drive organization, culture and business results. As part of the role, this person must develop and execute on a measurement strategy to determine the effectiveness of the communications tactics. Directs and maintains a diverse set of communication channels. Builds and maintains strong relationships with business leaders and line of business communicators to ensure early inclusion in initiatives that will impact associates and to provide counsel on handling communications to associates, managing reputational risks, and providing perspective on likely associate reactions. Develops and implements integrated communication strategy for stakeholders, creating communication plans and channels that align with core strategic principles. Works in tandem with Chief of Staff (CoS) and Executive Admin (EA) to ensure that the President is spending the right amount of time with the right audiences and delivering the right messages.


  • Oversees the totality of stakeholder communications for the President’s Office including presentations to CEO/Board of Directors, community engagements, associate-facing communications, regulator interactions, and any ad-hoc communications requests 
  • Partners closely with CoS to manage the day-to-day operations of the Office of the President, ensuring highest-leverage use of President’s time and voice
  • Leads the development of the communications strategy through partnership with other LOB leaders and communicators to ensure strategic consistency
  • Experiments with new communication methods to optimize President’s strategic leadership and engagement with associates
  • Partners with our corporate communications team for alignment on key messaging and strategy
  • Evaluate proposed projects and programs for strategic and tactical communication needs
  • Advise business and operational partner executives on associate communication needs and strategic consistency
  • Develop and execute communication plans for large-scale programs and key messages

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree

5+ years’ experience in communications or other relevant job experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Very strong writing and oratory skills

Very strong conceptual reasoning skills

Adaptable problem-solver with an even-keeled mentality

Strong comprehension of business strategy and objectives

Passion for learning and continuous improvement
