Position Purpose:

  • The Manager Security Operations is a member of the Enterprise Technology group and is responsible for execution of the Certificate Management process.
  • The Certificate Management process drives full life cycle management of X.509 certificates for the enterprise.  
  • The process encompasses facilitating certificate requests, maintaining an accurate inventory, and managing key performance indicators.
  • The manager leads a team of varied direct and matrix roles dedicated to the processes delivery and improvement and works with vendors, including Certificate Authorities, to mature and refine process efficiency and effectiveness.

Essential Job Responsibilities:  

1. Specific working knowledge of X.509 certificate technology along with common IT infrastructure, components, functionality, and applications is critical.

2. Best IT practices, industry standards, and ITIL processes (change, release, incident and problem management) are applied to daily responsibilities. 

3. The manager needs to collaborate across infrastructure, application and client account teams as all are key stakeholders to certificate lifecycle management. 

4. Building rapport and driving continual improvement both internally (team centric) and enterprise wise (process and stakeholder centric) are critical and expected.

Required Qualifications:


  • Technical undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Specific Security, ITIL and/or Six Sigma certification preferred

Job Related Experience:

  • 7 or more year's relevant experience in an IT-related position, 3 or more in a management role
  • Superior knowledge of X.509 certificates and relevant technology
  • Solid experience in process development, deployment and operation
  • Solid experience of continual service improvement programs

Additional Skills/Knowledge:

  • Ability to track tasks, make assignments, and deliver on commitment dates
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work across matrix teams, building consensus
  • Effectively interact with various levels of management and customers
  • Excellent communication skills, clear, concise, both verbal and written
  • Strong foundation is various areas of Information Technology
  • Competency in process execution and administration
  • Effective coordination and facilitation skills
  • Candidate must be driven, self-motivated, ambitious, effective, and efficient in customer service skills
