Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Managers at LinkedIn oversee small teams of engineers responsible for the overall health and operational design of our systems. You'll use your rare combination of technical depth, organizational skills, and verbal agility to build and lead a team of some of the best operations engineers in the industry.
Responsibilities • Serve as the face of a team responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of a significant part of our business • Gain and disseminate deep knowledge of our complex applications • Contribute to the development and growth of talented operations engineers ranging from junior to senior levels of experience • Play a leading role in the planning and execution of ongoing efforts to rapidly grow and improve our site • Develop tight relationships with multiple software development partners, ensuring that product needs are met from an operations perspective • Pitch in with hands on help and code as needed to keep things running smoothly
Basic Qualifications • 5+ years experience in a web operations role • 2+ years in a management/leadership position with at least 1+ year in management for engineering or operations talent • 2+ years UNIX systems knowledge and/or systems administration background • 2+ years programming in one or more of: Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, or C
Preferred Qualifications • 5+ years in an operations leadership position • Trouble-shooting skills that span systems, network, and code • Experience with web-based Java/J2EE architectures • Excellent communication skills • BS Computer Science
