POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general direction of the Director, Managed Markets, this position is responsible for serving as an integral member of the Market Access team, developing market access and managed markets strategies for assigned clients.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Skills and Expertise
  1. Manage, implement and deliver on various project types potentially including:
    • Value proposition creation (for client products to payers and providers)
    • Message testing/payer market research
    • Field force tools development and training (i.e., account manager tool kits)
    • Sales aids (both payer and provider)
    • Market segmentation analyses
    • Interactive marketing / sales aids
    • Brand planning engagements
    • Account strategy
    • Contracting strategy
    • Commercialization strategy
    • Pricing
  2. Serve as primary client/project manager
  3. Work collaboratively with market research team, creative team, and health outcomes/scientific team to produce client deliverables
Account Management
  1. Provides leadership on some client accounts
  2. Grows existing client relationships and develops new business opportunities
Business Development
  1. Responsible for lead proposal writing, contracting, client capabilities presentations, and pricing
  2. Creates project chain-linking opportunities through existing project client relationships
Financial Accountability
  1. Manage project budgets
  2. Allocate human and financial resources as appropriate to ensure objectives are accomplished
  3. Train managers on financial matters related to performing job responsibilities
Quality and Compliance
  1. Overall responsibility for timeliness, accuracy, completeness, and quality of all assigned projects
  2. Identifies areas for risk
  3. Fosters proactive, continued quality improvement
  4. Ensures and maintains highest integrity and honesty in all business activities
Team Management/Mentorship

  1. Trains and develops staff, where appropriate
  2. Identifies skills that are needed for projects or work activities and matches skill requirements with talent
  3. Provides active leadership to project teams and serves as a mentor to members

Organizational Leadership
  1. Responsible for corporate culture to include embracing and fostering company values
  2. Supports company programs and initiatives
  3. Represents the company to associates and the public
  4. Adheres to company policies and procedures
  5. Be a part of or manage a high performance team

Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in managed markets marketing / market access within the pharmaceutical industry or a managed markets agency servicing the pharmaceutical industry. BS/BA required, clinical degree preferred (Pharm D, Phd).

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Structured and well organized
  2. Demonstrated success within the consulting environment or pharmaceutical industry
  3. Strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience in leading successful teams
  4. Broad technical knowledge of managed markets
  5. Ability to interact with and influence clients so that business can be driven into the company
  6. Interest and ability to "think outside the box"
  7. Excellent writing skills as well as the ability to communicate complex material in presentations and discussions in a straightforward manner
  8. Strong interpersonal skills in order to develop sound, long-term client relationships and an ability to influence clients without being overbearing
  9. Ability to work well in a dynamic, successful consulting firm, which maintains high quality standards and demands excellence.
